Congratulations on your decision to join the noble profession of teaching. We are delighted that you are considering WCPSS as the host site for your pre-service and student teaching experiences. We invite you to review the links below and to work with your university’s student teaching contact to explore placement options within our district. He/she will also submit all paperwork on your behalf.
Keep in mind that submitting paperwork is the first step in the approval process. To be approved as a WCPSS student teacher or field experience student, students must be cleared by WCPSS Human Resources. Students must receive notification that they have been cleared by WCPSS Human Resources before reporting to a WCPSS campus.
WCPSS ID Badges
All student teachers and fulltime interns will need to schedule an appointment with Human Resources to have an ID badge made. Badges cannot be created for students who have not yet been cleared by WCPSS HR. Please contact Ed Stansberry at estansberry@wcpss.net or (919) 854-1716 to schedule your appointment. Please be aware that walk-in requests for ID badges cannot be honored.
