The Auditors Recommended:

“Establish a plan for centralized professional development that provides for coordinated training in the essential competencies necessary for effective delivery of the written curriculum, including institutionalization of expectations for instructional best practices and monitoring. Revise the teacher appraisal program to focus on implementation of district expectations and to provide teachers with constructive feedback to improve classroom performance.” (p.367)

What This Means To The Community:

Auditors recommend that WCPSS establishes a plan for centralized professional development that provides for coordinated training in the essential skills necessary for effective delivery of the written curriculum. That plan should also define what our desired best practices are and monitor their implementation. Teacher appraisals should provide teachers with constructive, concrete feedback to improve classroom performance.
