International Baccalaureate - High School
Theme Description
- Offers final two years of the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme
- Strong emphasis placed on ideals of international understanding, responsible citizenship, and service.
- Rigorous and balanced two year program of university level coursework that leads to IB examinations
- Diploma students take six subjects and write a 4,000 word extended essay, complete a course in theory of knowledge and complete a number of creativity, service and action and service (CAS) projects
- Students who qualify via IB examinations receive the IB Diploma recognized by universities throughout the world

Objectives
Magnet Programs will be used to foster healthy schools throughout the Wake County Public School System by using choice to help:
- Reduce high concentrations of poverty and support diverse populations
- Maximize use of school facilities
- Provide expanded educational opportunities
