Description

Rand Road Elementary is a single-track year round school where all students follow the Track 4 schedule. Our school day includes a 150 minute literacy block, following The Daily 5 framework, which includes word work, reading to self, reading to someone, listening to reading, and working on writing. To support other subject areas, our school has a fully networked computer lab, a portable laptop cart, an outdoor classroom/observation deck, and a science lab.
Our school has posted academic gains as evidenced in our EOG scores, most recently being recognized as a School of Distinction. We have also met AYP goals for all identified student subgroups. To support our students further, our teachers actively participate in weekly professional learning team meetings and share best practices that promote student success. Additionally, Rand Road Elementary provides additional support for students during our “Team Time” to address remediation, maintenance, and enrichment needs of students. Other support offered includes, English as a Second Language support, Special Education classes, intervention support, and services for Academically Gifted students.
